JetBlue announced the addition of a second weekly flight from Boston and Apple Vacations will incorporate the Liberia Missouri-Saint Louis route, which will be operated by XTRAirways.

JetBlue will operate its second flight on Sunday in a A320 aircraft with capacity for 150 passengers, starting in January and to be maintained throughout the season. Meanwhile XTRAirways will use a Boeing 737-400 with capacity for 150 people, operating from March 18 this year to August 5, 2016.

Mauricio Ventura, Minister of Tourism confirmed that the objective is "... to reach those markets with great potential, such as Boston, facilitating connections to increase tourism in our country ...".

Hermes Navarro, head of Investment Attraction at the Costa Rican Tourism Institute explained that "... charter flights are of great relevance to a destination, as they facilitate an airline's testing of a new market with a view to extending its operation permanently if successful ... ".

Starting November, the airline will add a new direct flight from Boston, in the United States, to Guanacaste, Costa Rica.

As part of the expansion of its services in Latin America, the low-cost airline will begin operating a new flight from 1 November from the U.S. city of Boston to Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport in Liberia, Costa Rica.

Jet Blue, which already operates a route between Orlando and the Costa Rican capital, San José, announced that the new flight will be available from November 17, 2011.
