More Cruise Ships in Roatan

It has been announced that next season the spanish company Pullmantur cruises will include the island in its list of destinations in the Caribbean.

Reports state that the new line will make 18 visits this season, positioning Roatan in the list of Pullmantur's Caribbean destinations with vessels capable of carrying 2,000 passengers and 800 crew.

Emilio Silvestri, director of the Honduran Institute of Tourism (IHT), told told "... the Spanish company Pullmantur is including Roatan in its list of destinations which it makes stops on cruises around the Caribbean ...".

The Central American country expects increased economic activity "... in the insular department of Honduras with regular arrivals of cruises from this company ...".

Panama is Homeport for Pullmantur Cruises

In the 2017 season the shipping company Pullmantur will have a permanent operation in the port of Colon.

The shipping company Pullmantur Cruises has reinforced its commitment to Panama by setting up a permanent operation in the port of Colon in the 2017 season. 

Panama: Drop in Arrivals of Cruise Ships

In the first four months of the year the number of passengers on board cruise ships that passed through Panamanian ports was 88 000, 70% less than in the same period in 2014.

Data from the first quarter of the year differs greatly from that of the same period last year, when the Tourism Authority of Panama recorded the arrival of 299,000 cruise passengers.

Honduras: Cruise Tourism Up 42%

April 2015

Reports reveal that during the 2014-2015 season which began in October and ends this month, 292 cruise ships arrived at Honduran ports, 41.7% more than in the previous season.

From a statement issued by the Honduran Institute of Tourism (IHT):

Tegucigalpa.- The Director of the Honduran Institute of Tourism IHT, Emilio Silvestri said today at a press conference that the cruise industry in Honduras grew by 41.7 percent in the 2014-2015 season which began in October and will end this April.

Panama Foresees Excellent Cruise Season

September 2010

During the next season that starts in October 15, 180 cruise ships will anchor in the Colon 2000 terminal.

For the current nine-month season (October-10 June-11) two cruise ships will depart from this terminal: the Ocean Dream, by Spanish company Pullmantur, and the Grandeur of the Seas, by Royal Caribbean.
