Imports by country 
In 2017, the main importer in Central America was Guatemala, with $117 million, followed by Costa Rica, with $113 million, Honduras, with $60 million, Panama with $57 million, El Salvador with $56 million, and Nicaragua with $27 million. 

Variation of regional imports 
Between 2016 and 2017, the value imported into the region grew by 12%, increasing from $72 million to $81 million. For the years in question, purchases from China grew by 8%, rising from $100 million to $120 million.

Origin of imports 
In 2017, 45% of the value imported into the region came from Mexico, 28% from China, 15% from the USA and 1% from Hong Kong.

China is the country of origin of Central American imports that has grown the most in the last six years, as in 2012 it represented 12% of the total value purchased, and in 2017 this figure rose to 28%.

September 2017

In 2016 TV imports in Central American countries totaled $424 million, 9% more than in 2015, and the value imported from China grew by 47% compared to 2015.

Central American TV imports Up 14%

March 2017

Between January and September 2016, the countries in the region imported $262 million worth of TVs, which is an increase of 14% compared to the same period in 2015.
