Medicines: Top Players in Central America

Productos Roche, Drogueria e Importadora Alemana and Corporacion Industrial Farmaceutica are some of the companies that during the first six months of the year won contracts to provide medicines and pharmaceutical products to public health institutions in the region.

The "Interactive Public Procurement Information System" of CentralAmericaData's Trade Intelligence Unit provides interesting data on the companies that in the first half of 2020 were favored with contracts to provide pharmaceutical products and medical supplies to the various Ministries of Health and Social Security entities in the Central American countries.

The report states that in Guatemala Productos Roche S.A., Agencia Farmaceutica Internacional S.A. (Agefinsa), J.I. Cohen S.A., Oxi-Rent S.A. and Bodega Farmacéutica S.A., are among the companies with contracts awarded during the first half of the year.

According to the information system, some of the companies supplying medical and pharmaceutical products in Panama are Drogueria e Importadora Alemana S.A., C.G. de Haseth & Cía, S.A., Medimex, S.A., Unipharm Panama S.A., Reprico, S.A. and Nutrimed S.A..

Surtimedic S.A., Nipro Medical Corporation, Servicios Tecnicos Medicos S.A. and Farlab S.A. are some of the companies contracted by the Salvadoran government for the period in question. Imlabs de R.L., Drogueria y Distribuidora Medica de R.L., and Corporacion Industrial Farmaceutica S.A., were the beneficiaries of public contracts in Honduras.

In the Dominican Republic, Jael Med SRL, Mega Labs SRL, Macrotech Farmacéutica SRL, and Grupo Farmeceutico Car-M SRL are reported to be suppliers to health entities.
