Medicines: Businesses in Central America

J.J. Cohen, Reprico, Labymed and Bioplus Care are some of the companies winning contracts in 2018 to provide medicines to public health institutions in the region.

An analysis of CentralAmericaData's Business Intelligence unit provides data on the companies that were favored last year with contracts to supply pharmaceutical products and medical supplies to the different Ministries of Health and Social Security entities in Central American countries.

The information system details that among the main suppliers of medical and pharmaceutical products in Costa Rica are BioPlus Care, Cefa Central Farmacéutica, Meditek Services, Alfa Médica and Biotec.

According to the collected data, in Guatemala J.J. Cohen S.A., Corporative Medicine of Dialysis, Labymed, Surgical Services, Compañia Farmacéutica Lanquetin, Compañia de Equipo Médico-Hospitalario S.A. and Stendhal, are among the companies with more contracts awarded last year.

In Panama, some of the companies contracted by the government were Reprico, S.A., Haseth & Cía, Promoción Médica, Medimex, Laboratorio Industrial Farmacéutico, among others.

In the case of Honduras, Droguería Guardado, Corporación Médica and Nipro Medical are reported as suppliers of health entities.
