After the Dominican Republic's Monthly Manufacturing Activity Index recorded a 5% year-on-year decline in August, a new drop was reported in September, in this case of 8% with respect to the same month in 2018.

Regarding the inter-monthly variation, the report details that the Monthly Manufacturing Activity Index (IMAM), prepared by the Dominican Republic Industries Association (AIRD), decreased from 60.1 in August to 54 in September.

During January in the Dominican Republic the Monthly Index of Manufacturing Activity registered a 4% decrease with respect to the previous month, variation that is explained by a contraction in the volume of sales and production.

When comparing the figures with those reported at the end of 2019, an increase is registered, since in January the Monthly Index of Manufacturing Activity (IMAM) of the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD) increased to 62.5, while in November 2019 it was 53.2 and went up to 58.7 in December 2019.

During October, in the Dominican Republic the Monthly Manufacturing Activity Index registered a 15% increase with respect to the previous month, variation that is explained by a greater volume of sales and production.

The Monthly Manufacturing Activity Index (IMAM) of the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD) rose from 54.1 in September 2019 to 62.3 in October, showing an upward trend, after two consecutive months of decline, says the union report.

After July's Monthly Manufacturing Activity Index in the Dominican Republic registered a 12% year-on-year increase, August reported a 5% drop with respect to the same month in 2018.

Regarding the year-on-year variation, the report details that the Monthly Manufacturing Activity Index (IMAM), prepared by the Dominican Republic Industries Association (AIRD), decreased from 64.6 in July to 60.1 in August.

Manufacturing Activity Up 9%

Explained by an increase in production and sales, in March the Monthly Manufacturing Activity Index in the Dominican Republic increased 9% with respect to the same month in 2018.

Data from the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD) indicate that the Monthly Manufacturing Activity Index (IMAM) increased from 55 in February to 60.7 in March, the highest performance during the third month since 2016.
