From a statement issued by Delta Air Lines:
Delta Air Lines will begin to operate a seasonal service on Saturdays between Los Angeles and Managua, from June 5, 2015. "Delta is the only airline that offers the convenience of a weekly nonstop service between Managua and Los Angeles," said Jose Antonio Torres, CEO of Delta for Central America. "The start of the new weekly Los Angeles-Managua flight was located later in the day in order to allow business travelers take advantage of the full working day before traveling. Also, customers going from Nicaragua to LAX can now access the global network of Delta flights and enjoy the benefits of the investments made by Delta in the region of Central America. "
Once in Los Angeles, customers flying from Nicaragua will have several options to connect with flights to Northern California and towards other western states. From Los Angeles, Delta currently operates 154 peak-day departures to 48 destinations and has been continuously expanding its domestic and international service in recent months, including London-Heathrow in October; Dallas and Austin, Texas in November; and Vancouver, Canada in December.
