Machinery Sales Center for $18 million

In Costa Rica an Environmental Impact Study has been submitted to build, in the province of Alajuela, an office and warehouse center for the sale and maintenance of heavy machinery.

Viviendas IL Ritorno del Sol S.A. submitted to the National Environmental Technical Secretariat (SETENA) an EIA to build, in the district of San Jose, county and province of Alajuela, a call center with areas for offices on two levels, a workshop, storage space for spare parts for sale and use in the workshop, exhibition area for machinery for sale, area for rental and use of new and used equipment as well as parking for employees and customers. According to the document, the project is called "Matra - El Coyol" and total investment is estimated at $17,683,000.

Data from the latest report on the economic situation recorded an annual fall of 3.5% in activity in the construction sector and 0.20% in the agricultural sector. This data explains the discouraging results in machinery distribution companies, which have been slow since 2015.

Falling Demand for Heavy Machinery in Costa Rica

Although it is expected that with the public infrastructure projects recently announced by the government the construction sector will start to recover, suppliers of agricultural and construction machinery predict a decrease due to production problems and declining projects.
