Machinery: International Event in Panama

From February 5 to 7, the event called "Expo Machine 2020" will take place in the country's capital, where several types of machines, equipment, products and services from the construction, industrial, logistics, maritime, mining and agricultural sectors will be offered.

The event's organizers informed that for this year's edition, 70 exhibitors will participate, including national and international ones, who will exhibit an average of 200 brands.

Adolfo Icaza, president of the Association of Machinery Distributors (Adimaq), told Elcapitalfinanciero.com that "... in 2019 nearly $8 million was negotiated, the same amount expected for this year, understanding the context of the slowdown in the economy."

José Quijano, president of Expo Maquina, explained that "... the exhibition will connect service providers, manufacturers and distributors, with potential buyers, decision makers and the government."

The exhibition will take place at the Atlapa Convention Center and 18 thousand square meters of exhibition space are being prepared. It is expected that 5 thousand visitors will attend.

The union of distributors of equipment in Panama has denounced the existence of illegal requirements in the specifications of a tender to provide motor graders.

The Association of Machinery Distributors (Adimaq) argues that the request for proposal documents for best value tender No. 2016-0-16-0-08-LV -011526 to supply 15 motor graders included "... in an illegal manner, new conditions for sanctions and disqualifications after legal compliance, thus violating Public Procurement Law 22 of June 27, 2006. "
