$45 million Logistics Park

In a 13-hectare site in the province of Colón, Panama, a logistics park consisting of 5 buildings measuring 5,000 square meters each will be built.

According to the interactive platform "Construction in Central America" complied by the business Intelligence Unit at CentralAmericaData, Colon Container Terminal, S.A. submitted an Environmental Impact Study (EIA) to build a logistic park in Coco Solo, Corregimiento of Cristóbal, district and province of Central America.

The EIA indicates that "for the project called CCT Logistic Park Project a land area is available of 12 Has + 8,250.55 m2. Plans are to build five (5) buildings, each 50 meters wide and 100 meters long, a treatment plant, parking area for vehicles, vans, and trailers, streets, guard house entrance and exit, etc. It will have a place strategically prepared for loading and unloading of trucks, and an area for a truck dock."

The document details that the project "is to implement one of the expansion plans that includes the addition of non-perishable storage areas located along the port and across Randolph Avenue, as well as incorporating more equipment for more efficient handling of container operations."

Estimated investment: $45 million.

These are areas where there are are concentrations of several activities related to the transport operators, storage and distribution of goods, for both domestic and international traffic.

Capital.com.pa reports that the Foreign Trade Deputy Minister, José Pacheco, pointed out that right now an inventory is being made of logistics parks inside the oceanic area, as part of the activities of the Working Council on National Logistics, under the Technical Cooperation Project "Support for Panama's Logistical Plan" implemented by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Mici) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) (See Charts: Logistics Parks assets and futures in Oceanic Area).
