Limon "Homeport" for New Cruise Line

As of December 6, 2015 a Pullmantur ship will use the port of Limón as a base during the four months of the cruise season.

The arrival of the cruise ship in Limon is part of an agreement signed between Viajes Colón and Pullmantur, which will provide a boat for up to 1828 passengers. The cruise ship will arrive at Limon every Sunday and offer two different routes through the Caribbean.

Travel agencies will market the product in Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama, while transport companies will take tourists to the port and tour operators will be ready to support marketing, stressed the businessman. "

Nacion.com reports that "... Heriberto Pablo Abarca, President of the National Chamber of Tourism (Canatur), stressed that this business agreement will position Costa Rica further into the global cruise industry. Panama is Homeport for Pullmantur Cruises

The shipping company Pullmantur Cruises has reinforced its commitment to Panama by setting up a permanent operation in the port of Colon in the 2017 season. 

Nicaragua: 45 Cruises in 2015/16 Season

45 cruise ships are expected to arrive during the 2015/16 season, 21% more than in the previous season, when 37 boats arrived to the country.

The two ports where cruise ships will dock are Puerto Corinto and San Juan del Sur, and they will start arriving from October 2015 to May 2016.

More Cruise Ships in Roatan

June 2015

It has been announced that next season the spanish company Pullmantur cruises will include the island in its list of destinations in the Caribbean.

Reports state that the new line will make 18 visits this season, positioning Roatan in the list of Pullmantur's Caribbean destinations with vessels capable of carrying 2,000 passengers and 800 crew.

Honduras: Cruise Tourism Up 42%

Reports reveal that during the 2014-2015 season which began in October and ends this month, 292 cruise ships arrived at Honduran ports, 41.7% more than in the previous season.

From a statement issued by the Honduran Institute of Tourism (IHT):

Tegucigalpa.- The Director of the Honduran Institute of Tourism IHT, Emilio Silvestri said today at a press conference that the cruise industry in Honduras grew by 41.7 percent in the 2014-2015 season which began in October and will end this April.
