Tender: $16 million Hospital Remodeling

The Social Security Department in Panama is putting out to tender remodeling of different areas of the Manuel Amador Guerrero Hospital in the province of Colon.

Works include "remodeling of the surgical block, anesthesia recovery area, central sterilization area on the first floor and renovation of the operating rooms in the gyno-obstetrics area on the ground floor of the Manuel Amador Guerrero Hospital of the CSS."

Reference value: $16.410.000

The deadline for receipt of bids is May 16, 2016.

Children's Hospital: Has the Story Ended?

After the claims were solved, the Panamanian Ministry of Health awarded the contract to build and equip the new Children's Hospital to the consortium Acciona Construccion S.A.

The last claims of this work, which has been trying to be awarded for years, arose after the results of the competition were known, since the report of the Evaluation Commission details that the proposal of Consorcio CAMCE, worth $613 million, obtained a score of 72 and that of Consorcio Acciona Construcción, S.A., valued at $614 million, had a score of 87.92. Panama: Hospital del Niño to be Tendered in June

March 2017

The government has announced that between April and May this year plans will be ready for the new Children's Hospital, and the tender for its construction and equipment will be published in June.

The tender to be announced in June this year includes the construction, equipment and operation of the hospital, which will have 65% more construction area than the original project, since according to the Ministry of Health, designs of critical areas have been improved and there is increased parking and areas for circulation.

Panama: $135 million for Hospital Equipment

August 2015

The Social Security Department has announced it has $135 million for the procurement of medical equipment and construction works to be tendered in the short term.

From a statement issued by the National Assembly of Panama:

In order to make improvements, contracts and purchase medical equipment for hospitals, clinics, ULAPS, and health centers across the country, the Budget Committee approved nine transfers of items for a total amount of 135.3 million to the Social Security Department (CSS).
