Imports by country
During the first half of last year, the main importer of laptops and tablets in Central America was Costa Rica with $75 million, followed by Guatemala with $48 million, Panama with $31 million, El Salvador with $27 million, Honduras with $15 million and Nicaragua with $7 million.

Variation in regional imports
Between the first half of 2017 and the same period in 2018, the value imported into the region increased 19%, from $176 million to $209 million.

For the periods concerned, imports from China increased by 88%, from $36 million to $69 million.

Origin of imports
From January to June 2018, 52% of the value imported into the region was from the US, 33% from China, 1% from Portugal, 1% from Vietnam and 1% from Spain.
