Labor Contracts in Panama Increase

As reported by the Department of Labor, in January of 2009, 20,573 new contracts were registered, 21.7% more than the same period of year 2008.

Orlando Carpintero writes in Prensa.com: "The growth was seen in the three types of contracts for which records are kept: For specific projects, there were 2,540 new contracts more than in January of 2008; for defined time frame contracts, 269 more; and, in the open contracts segment, 859 more."

Panama: Employment Contracts Up 7%

In the first four months of the year 97,234 employment contracts were signed, 7% more than in the same period in 2015.

Government figures indicate that between January and April 97,234 contracts were signed, higher than the 90,841 in 2015, registering an absolute increase of 6,393 new jobs.

Formal Employment Increases in Nicaragua

More and more Panamanians are deciding to quit their jobs and move to a another one with better pay. In the first four months of the year alone there were 10 000 more resignations compared to the same period in 2010.

Panama: 21,000 New Jobs for 2014

A study by the Labor Ministry concluded that the economy will generate 21,000 new jobs in the next four years.

The two main areas will be the Panama Canal Expansion and the Howard special economic area (Panama Pacifico).

"Last week, President Ricardo Martinelli stated that Howard would generate 25,000 jobs", noted Prensa.com.
