The old Canal Zone will be an artistic theme for Panama's Eighth Biennial Art Exhibition

The Eighth Biennial Art Exhibition of Panama is a leading exhibition that this year will have as its theme the Canal Zone, an enclave on the banks of the waterway. It will open Sept. 9 at the Panama's Museum of Contemporary Art.

The Arts and Culture Foundation of Panama, which organizes the event, said today that this is the first time in the 15 years since it was founded that the Biennial will have a central theme.
The general concept of the show was proposed by the Mexican art critic Magali Arriola, who as curator of the Biennial brought in thirteen national and international artists.
