LAC Flavors 2013 Announced in Nicaragua

On 25 and 26 July 150 regional suppliers to the food sector will present their products to more than 50 buyers from North America, Europe and Asia.

From a statement by the Inter-American Development Bank:

LAC Flavors 2013: a Business Conference, to be held in Granada, Nicaragua, on the 25th and 26th July 2013, is being organized by the Official Agency for Investment Promotion and Export (PRONicaragua), the Superior Council of Private Enterprise (COSEP) of Nicaragua and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) via the Trade and Investment Unit (TIU) of the Integration and Trade Sector (INT) and the Department of Central America (CID) Mexico, Panama and the Dominican Republic, through its Mesoamerica Project.

LAC Flavors is an annual gathering of specialized businesses in a conference which brings together food exporters and international buyers in order to create new business opportunities. LAC Flavors 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012, generated business worth approximately $21 million after more than 4,000 meetings held during these events.

Lac Flavors Nicaragua Generates Deals Worth $14 million

In the 2013 edition of the fair, participants closed $14 million in deals, plus $42.6 million in future purchasing intentions.

From a statement by ProNicaragua:

More than $14 million in business deals were signed during LAC Flavors 2013, the highest amount among the five editions of the annual business meeting, an increase of 363% compared to the $4 million conducted in the previous edition.

Flavors Lac Brings Together 51 Buyers with 180 Suppliers

For this new edition opened in Granada, Nicaragua, more than 1,600 business meetings have already been scheduled between the buyers and suppliers participating in the event.

"Conditions are ripe for this (Lac Flavors) to succeed in the sale and promotion of Nicaraguan products, the abundant quantities and skills of the attendees representing companies interested in agribusiness fills us with satisfaction and demonstrates the motivation in the food sector," said Alvaro Baltodano, Presidential Delegate for Investments.

On 26th and 27th of November 500 Chinese businessmen will take part in business meetings with 300 representatives from Latin American companies seeking to generate new business.

According to Anabel Gonzalez, Minister of Foreign Trade, they expect the involvement of 300 employers in the region and they have been organizing business meetings for the summit in the form of plenary sessions, parallel meetings and roundtable discussions at high-level .

More than 130 Mesoamerican companies in the food sector offered their products to more than 40 buyers from Japan, China, South Korea, the United States, Canada and Latin America.

Among the activities at Manufexport 2012, was the fourth edition of LAC Flavors in Antigua, Guatemala, held from 11 to 13 July.
