Italian Government Will Build Hospital in Panama

The Panamanian Executive announced the construction of a pediatric and geriatric hospital in Veraguas, with Italian funding.

In his visit to Italy, presidents Ricardo Martinelli and Silvio Berlusconi ratified their commitment to strengthen relationships between both countries.

"'I think this donation (to build a hospital) on behalf of the Italian Government is very important, and Prime Minister Berlusconi's visit will be the start of great exchange between Italy and Panama' said Martinelli.

Taiwan donates $22.5 million for Hospital in Panama

The donation will be delivered in three instalments, with the first $7.5 million handed over when the bilateral agreement is signed.

The governments of Panama and Taiwan signed Monday May 6 an act of donation of the first instalment to build a hospital in Bocas del Toro, which will bring great benefits to the province and the region of Ngabe Bugle.

Panama to Build New Hospital in Las Cumbres

November 2010

The Government will invest $19.8 million to build an 80-bed hospital.

The new hospital will benefit 177.769 inhabitants of the villages of Chilibre, Las Cumbres, Alcaldedìaz and Ernesto Campos Cordoba.

The project involves construction of an 80-bed second-tier care hospital. The launch is scheduled for 2011 with completion estimated for 2012.

Nicaragua Approves $66.5 Million for Hospital

September 2010

The congress of Nicaragua approved an agreement with CABEI to build a military hospital.

It will feature over 41.000 square meters of constructed space in a central two-storey building plus two three-storey towers, holding 474 beds.

According to EFE, the $66.5 million are split as follows: $4 million will be donated by the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), while the remaining will be disbursed as a 20-year loan with a grace period of three years, at an unspecified interest rate.

Guatemala to Invest $185 Million in Hospitals

August 2010

The Guatemalan social security institute (IGSS) has presented its investment plan for 2010 and 2011.

Projects scheduled to become operational between August and October 2014 are the construction of the western, north east and southern region hospitals in Quetzaltenango, Zacapa and Escuintla costing $42 million, $25 million and $43.4 million respectively.
