Tender for Technology Change in Traffic Light System

July 2013

The Road Safety Council of Costa Rica will invest $3 million in changing the technology of its traffic light system in the city of San Jose.

The purpose of the contract is to carry out a change of the technology currently used in the Centralized Traffic System of San Jose, in a manner that allows the centralization of 87 additional intersections with the 396 which are already centralized under the current Centralized Traffic System, thereby expanding its capacity to 483 centralized intersections. Under this contract the intention is to completely change the current equipment in the 87 systems.
