International Tender: PPP for Cargo Terminal

In El Salvador, the contract for the financing, design, construction and operation of the San Oscar Arnulfo Romero y Galdámez International Airport Cargo Terminal is tendered under the Public-Private Partnership format.

The project contemplates two phases of development: Phase 1 consists of financing, design, expansion, construction, equipment, improvement of maintenance and operation of the existing Cargo Terminal.

Phase 2 consists of the financing, design, construction, equipment, maintenance and operation of a new infrastructure of the Cargo Terminal. Both phases will be carried out on the grounds of the air terminal.

The budget for Phase 1 is $11,767,213 excluding VAT. This value is referential and considers the nominal value of the works of the Public-Private Partnership Contract, including all project costs, general expenses and provision of basic services, payments by the Special Purpose Society during the Construction Stage and costs for the elaboration of the Final Project.

The bids will be received by the Bid Evaluation Commission at a public ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 and the opening of the economic bids will take place at a public ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on March 12, 2020.

Cargo Terminal: New Deadline for PPP Tendering

March 13 is the new date for the receipt of bids in the tender for the financing contract, design, construction and operation of the works of the Cargo Terminal at El Salvador's Oscar Romero Airport, under the format of Public-Private Partnership.

The original call for bids set February 12 as the deadline for receipt of proposals, however, because several companies have expressed interest in participating, it was decided to postpone until March 13 the delivery of tenders.

On August 19, the Economy and Finance Commission approved in the first debate the project that seeks to regulate the contracts, generally long term, between the public and private sectors for the design, construction, repair, expansion, financing, operation, maintenance, administration and/or supply of projects and services such as roads, energy, telecommunications, public transportation, ports and water treatment, among others.

Who Wants to Run La Aurora Airport?

A search has begun for investors interested in participating in the tender to award the operation of La Aurora International Airport in concession, for a term of 15 to 20 years.

The plan to grant the airport concession is being promoted by the Ministry of Communications, Infrastructure and Housing (CIV) and the National Agency of Partnerships for the Development of Economic Infrastructure (Anadie). To this end, last year, the Deloitte / Tetra Tech Association was contracted to carry out the feasibility study of the "Modernization, Efficiency and Safety of La Aurora International Airport" .

Airport Concession Awarded in Honduras

A subsidiary of Terra Group will be responsible for the design, financing, construction, and maintenance and operation of the International Airport at Palmerola.

The Commission for the Promotion of Public Private Partnerships (COALIANZA) has awarded to Constructora de Servicios Aeroportuarios Integrados S.A.(SAISA), the Contract for the Design, Financing, Construction, Maintenance and Operation of Palmerola International Airport, which will be located in the city of Comayagua, on the road axis between Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula.
