International Competition for Construction of Civic Center

Honduras is calling for expressions of interest for the "Design, Financing, Construction, Operation and Transfer of the Civic Government Center of the Republic of Honduras."

Deadline for expressions of interest: August 29, 2014.

The Commission for the Promotion of Public-Private Partnerships (COALIANZA) in coordination with LAFISE Bank SA, in its capacity as Arranger and Trust Bank, on instruction from the Technical Committee at the request of the Government of the Republic of Honduras, through the Chairman of the Republic, are in the process of structuring and development of a project entitled "Design, Financing, Construction, Operation and Transfer of the Civic Government Center of the Republic of Honduras."

The contract signed between COALIANZA Trust SA and Banco LAFISE for the management of the Governmental Project Civic Center was approved by Legislative Decree No. 307-2013, published in the Official Newspaper "La Gaceta" on May 12, 2014.

The deadline has been extended to receive expressions of interest for the international competition for Financing, Construction, Operation and Transfer of the Government of Honduras' Civic Center.

From a statement issued by Coalianza:

Tegucigalpa, September 2. 2014. In reference to the notice published on Wednesday 6 and Thursday 7 of August this year about the invitation to submit Expressions of Interest for the International Public Tender for Selection of an Investor - Operator for the Design, Financing, Building, Operation, Lease and Transfer of a Civic Center for the Government of the Republic of Honduras, we hereby inform interested companies, that as per instructions from the Technical Committee of the Trust, the deadline to submit expressions of interest for the implementation of the project has been extended until Wednesday September 10, 2014, 5:00 pm standard time of the Republic of Honduras.

Honduras to Tender "Civic City" Project

The plan announced by the government, with an estimated cost of $180 million, includes the construction, by tender, of a complex of seven towers of government offices.

The government of Honduras has officially announced the project "Ciudad Cívica" (Civic City), a complex of office and commercial buildings and green spaces to house state institutions.

Cotrans-Norris to Design Panama's "Government City"

The bid evaluation committee has awarded the contract to design and develop the construction plans for Panama's new "Government City" ("Ciudad Gubernamental" in Spanish) to Cotrans-Norris.

Of the five companies that took part in the public tender (Prointec, F.G. Guardia y Asociados, Consorcio Ciudad Gubernamental Proyetco-Arnaiz, Consorcio A.A.P.-Castinsa and Cotrans-Norris) only Cotrans-Norris and F.G.
