A study on the causes of the rampant corruption prevailing in Honduras, is an analysis that can apply to any Central American country.

The report "Indicators of International Corruption. What they reflect and what they omit?. The case of Honduras”, was commissioned by the National Anticorruption Council (CNA) in Honduras, and conducted by a European consultancy.

Highlights of the report include a critical look at the different indices and rankings measuring corruption internationally, with suggestions for a better way to interpret each of them, after recognizing that "the complexity and nature of corruption makes their measurement a problematic task. "

Impeachment requested for Perez Molina

The Public Ministry of Guatemala believes it is "likely" that President Otto Perez Molina was involved in the customs fraud network known as "La Línea" and has called for his impeachment in the Supreme Court.

The Index of Corruption Perception created by Transparency International, ranks Honduras, Guatemala and Nicaragua in the list of countries perceived as the most corrupt.

Honduras is ranked at number 140, while Nicaragua and Guatemala are located in positions 127 and 123, respectively.
