India Opens Embassy in Guatemala

The government of India seeks closer trade relations with Guatemala.

These were the words of the new Ambassador of India in Guatemala, Praveen Verma, during the opening of the embassy.

The Ambassador added to Elperiodico.com.gt that "... one of the objectives of opening the Embassy in Guatemala is to investigate business opportunities that may exist in the country, among these projects, information technology and manufacturing to be establish here.”

This is the first Indian Embassy in Central American territory.

Great Britain Re-opens Embassy in El Salvador

As part of the expansion of diplomatic relations in Latin America, the British Government will reopen the embassy closed in 2003.

Julie Chapel, British ambassador in Guatemala, said they hope to work with the Government of El Salvador on regional security issues.

India Opens Embassy in Guatemala

India opened its first diplomatic headquarters in Central American territory.
