Increase in Nicaraguan Exports to Taiwan

Since the entry into force of the FTA with China, exports reported an increase of 547%.

Taiwan's ambassador in Nicaragua, Ingrid Hsing, said exports in 2006 totaled $5.7 million, but by the end of 2011 they had increased to $38.9 million.

In the current year, beef exports alone have generated revenues of $12.6 million.

"We have the opportunity to keep growing, we are in possession of an efficient mechanism, such is the Free Trade Agreement", said the diplomatic according to Elnuevodiario.com.ni

Since early 2008, Nicaraguan exports to Taiwan have continued to grow. In just three years, they have sold products worth $68 million as a result of the agreement between the two countries.

The commercial trade among both countries went from $20.1 million in the year 2005 to nearly $31 million in 2008.
