1st Conference on Latin American and Caribbean Small Hotels
On 18th and 19th of April Latin American small hoteliers in Costa Rica will meet to discuss issues such as competitiveness, promotion and marketing, and accommodation in small centers.

"Owners of small hotels in the Latin American region with a minimum of five rooms and a maximum of 50 will gather together on 18th and 19th of April at the Hotel Radisson Zurquí in Barrio Tournon," reported Elfinancierocr.com.
Taking part in this meeting are delegations from Central American countries, as well as guests from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, revealed the president of the National Network of Small Hotels, Jane Lemaire.
During the activity an online booking program for small hotels will be launched. There will also be a signing of a commitment to create the Inter-American Network of Small Hotels, with representation from the countries present.
"There will be representation from Caribbean countries who will be directly sponsored by the Organization of American States (OEA by its initials in Spanish)," she added.
During the meeting of small hotels which is taking place in Costa Rica, representatives from 17 countries will sign the formation of an Inter American Network.
A statement from the National Network of Small Hotels (REDNAPH) reads:
Today will see the creation of the Inter-American Network of Small Hotels, as part of the First Meeting of Small Hotels in America and the Caribbean.
The country will host from today until September 29 the IX Central American Forum of Small Hotels.
Organized by the Central Federation of Small Hotels (FECAPH), the event brings together the region's hoteliers to define strategies to improve competitiveness.
"In parallel, a "Provider’s Fair " will also be running, which aims to improve infrastructure investments.
This year El Salvador will attend the OAS’s Inter-American Congress. The main theme is to develop business competitiveness as a tool for tourism development.

The XIX Inter-American Travel Congress to be held in San Salvador, El Salvador, on 29 and 30 September, 2011 will focus on the following theme "Tourism, a challenge to poverty." Other important issues, such as the importance of public-private partnerships to promote investment and development for the tourism sector, tourism and cultural heritage, social responsibility of enterprises in the tourism industry and the challenges for sustainable tourism will also be discussed in plenary sessions.
From May 31st to June 2nd, the Honduran city will be host to the 39th Assembly of the OAS and to particular Latin American forums of businesspersons and youth.
The visitors will fill the hotel capacity of the industrial city, although by those dates two new hotels will have been inaugurated, according to declarations by Deputy Mayor Eduardo Bueso, as submitted by Lisseth Garcia in her article in La Prensa.hn.
