How to Process Health Registrations

In Guatemala, a workshop to train professionals from the Central American region on the use of the Regional Integration System for Health Registries is being organized for June 18.

From a statement issued by the Sieca:

The Center for Studies for Economic Integration (CEIE) at the Central American Economic Integration Secretariat (SIECA) is organizing a workshop to train professionals from the Central American region on the use of the Regional Integration System for Health Registries (SIRRS). The objective is to promote the use of the IT platform and train personnel in the private sector in its use and exploitation.

The Regional Integration System for Health Registries (SIRRS) is a regional system administered by SIECA, created for the recognition of food and drink health registries, and which seeks to simplify, harmonize and automate procedures for health registration in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.

It was developed by instruction of the Council of Ministers of Economic Integration (COMIECO), with the support of the World Bank and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). 

The activity will last for 4 hours in one morning. It has an interactive format, where participants' questions and doubts will be addressed and resolved in real time.

Date and time: The event will be held on Monday, June 18, 2017
Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 01:00 p.m.

A new online system has been announced for processing food and beverage registrations, renewing those already held and making mutual recognitions within the framework of the customs union.

"

Quality Program for Central America

A regional program will support the quality and application of sanitary and phytosanitary measures.

In order to improve access for Central American products to markets the creation of a standardized and internationally recognized Regional System for Quality and Application of SPS Measures has been proposed.

Sieca to Launch Customs IT Systems

March 2010

In the first half of the year, the Central American Economic Integration Secretary (Sieca) will launch two IT systems for customs offices.

They are called Siauca (Unified Customs Information System for Central America) and AIC (Integrated Central American Tariff).

Siauca "is to be used exclusively by the customs authorities of the five countries of the region, and will enable them to freely exchange information", reported Capitales.com. Meanwhile, "AIC is an information tool covering imports and exports from the 5 Sieca countries".
