How to Attract Dutch Tourists

Through an agreement with KLM, tourists from the Netherlands who usually only pass through the country to connect with other destinations will be encouraged to stay in Panama.

Currently the Air France-KLM group offers daily flights between Panama and Amsterdam and 6 weekly flights between Panama and Paris.  From Panama KLM serves 27 destinations in Central America, South America and the Caribbean. 

50% of passengers traveling on these airlines stay in Panama, while the other 50% use the hub to connect with other destinations. 

From a statement issued by the Presidency of Panama:

March 23, 2018 The Government of the Republic, through the Tourism Authority of Panama, will sign an agreement with the KLM-Air France group to encourage the attraction of tourists to the country, using the air connectivity of these airlines. 

This was announced today by President Juan Carlos Varela after concluding a meeting with Pieter Elbers, executive director of the airline KLM, held in the Presidency of the Republic.

More European Tourists Came to Panama in 2017

January 2018

Last year almost 228,000 visitors from Europe came to the country, 8% more than the figure recorded in 2016.

The European airlines that increased passenger revenue in 2017 were: Iberia, with a total of 69,381 passengers, some 9,501 more than in 2016, with a growth of 15.9%; and KLM, with a total of 55,519 passengers, about 2,044 more than in 2016, an increase of 3.8%. 

Panama-Lufthansa Tourism Promotion Agreement

Through an agreement valued at $4 million, the German airline will promote Panama for three years as a destination for European tourists.

Berlin Germany. October 18, 2016.  The Government of the Republic of Panama, through the Tourism Authority of Panama (ATP) and the German airline Lufthansa today finalized an agreement to promote tourism in the amount of B / .4 million, for a period of three years, it will seek to increase the volume of air traffic between Europe and Panama, encouraging travelers to take Lufthansa flights and discover Panama's tourist destinations.

More Air Connectivity Between France and Panama

December 2015

From today until March 26, 2016 Air France-KLM will increase the number of flights it operates weekly between Panama City and Paris to six.

The European airline will therefore be operating one flight a day except Tuesdays, during the holiday season known as "European winter".

More Flights Between Paris and Panama City

October 2014

The airline Air France has increased the number of weekly flights it operates from the Charles de Gaulle Airport to Tocumen to five.

55% of passengers arriving on flights at Tocumen on KLM and Air France flights are destined for Panama. From January to August, 17,207 tourists arrived from France, representing an annual increase of 78.9%.
