Hotel Occupancy Remains Down in 2019

Last year, hotels in Panama City reported an average daily occupancy of 4,571 rooms, 1% less than in 2018.

Reports from the General Comptroller of the Republic indicate that in December the daily average of occupied rooms did not register significant changes with respect to the same month last year, going from 4,307 to 4,281.

During 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019, hotel occupancy levels have fallen compared to each of the previous years. Although last year's fall was minimal, this trend has not been reversed.

On the other hand, between December 2018 and the same month in 2019 the number of rooms available did not grow as it remained at 10,205.
