Hotel Chain Announces Expansion

After Selina opened its first establishment in Antigua, Guatemala, the international chain announced that next year plans to open five new hotels in different parts of the country.

Tuesday, October 23, 2018

The chain's representatives informed that for the opening of the new hotels, which will be in the departments of Solola, Escuintla, Guatemala, Alta Verapaz and Peten, an investment of approximately $6 million will be made.

Regarding expansion plans, Steven O'Hayon, Selina's vice president of business development, said to Dca.gob.gt that "... We plan to grow throughout Latin America, in places ranging from large cities to small rural centers, beaches, jungles, mountains and forests. That's why starting our operation in Guatemala with unity in Antigua is fundamental because it's a World Heritage Site and one of the most diverse and magical places in the world."

Carlos Lee, CEO of Selina Antigua Guatemala, explained that "... The other locations will be in Atitlan, Solola; El Paredon, Escuintla; Guatemala City, Lanquin, Alta Verapaz, and Flores, Peten, all with a new concept of integrated ecosystem tourism."
