Hospital Construction Awarded for $90 million

Van Der Laat and Jiménez will be in charge of the construction and equipping of the new 40,000 square meter hospital in Turrialba, Costa Rica.

The hospital will have 110 beds, it will be a set of seven buildings on two and three floors, to be built on a plot of land measuring 10 hectares.

From a statement issued by the Government of Costa Rica:

April 17, 2018. The construction of this new hospital was awarded to the company Vanderlat and Jiménez. 

The Board of Directors of the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS) awarded the construction and equipping of the new William Allen Hospital in Turrialba, which will be a turnkey project and one of the largest that the institution will develop.

As reported by Dr. Fernando Llorca Castro, executive president of the CCSS, the decision was adopted after analyzing the different offers by technical teams from the Medical, Financial and Infrastructure and Technology departments of the institution.

Which Contractors Build Hospitals in Central America?

Constructora Nova, Constructora Delgado and Corporación Noble are three of the firms that have been awarded contracts to develop construction works for public health institutions in the countries of the region.

Figures from the information system "Public Purchases in the Health Sector", developed by the Trade Intelligence area of CentralAmericaData, lists the companies that have been favored with contracts to provide pharmaceutical products and medical supplies, in tenders published between July 2017 and June 2018, by the different Ministries of Health and Social Security of Central American countries.

$45 million Hospital Work Awarded

June 2018

The Costa Rican Social Security Institution awarded Estructuras S.A. the design, construction and equipment of the operating rooms, delivery room and intensive care unit at Hospital México.

According to Social Security officials the contract was awarded on Monday, and the work includes construction of a building measuring 18,477 m2 and approximately $44.8 million will be invested.

Hospital Construction Contract Awarded

February 2018

Constructora Navarro y Avilés S.A. will be in charge of the construction and equipping of the emergency building at the San Carlos Hospital, which will require an investment of $10 million.
