Honduras: $ 10 Million for Mitigation Works

With the donation by the Government of Japan, Tegucigalpa municipal authorities auctioned the project.

The works involve the removal of 750,000 cubic meters of soil which threatens the lowlands of Comayaguela.

The Mayor of Central District, Ricardo Alvarez, said to Proceso.hn "... the signing of the donation agreement with the Japanese Ambassador to Honduras will be on February 8, after which we will begin the bidding process to start the removal of the hill.”

The Central District Municipality in the capital is investing in projects to repave roads and construct new overpasses.

The announcement was made by Mayor Ricardo Alvarez who referred to the works which include renovation work on the streets of the historic center of Tegucigalpa, construction of an overpass at Hacienda-Suyapa, and expanding the Fuerzas Armadas boulevard to three lanes .
