Honduras: Online Procedures for Mining Sector

The launch of an online approval system for mineral export inspection has been announced.

From a statement issued by the Honduran Institute of Geology and Mines:

Tegucigalpa April 20, 2016.- In a representative event by the Honduran Institute of Geology and Mines INHGEOMIN, a step has been taken towards the cutting edge with the launch of the online Inspection Approval Module for Exporting Minerals, which is a new technology platform that will benefit exporters as a new form of communication between citizens and the INHGEOMIN in its capacity as regulator of mining activities in Honduras.

By using this new platform, response times will be reduced for approving applications for export inspections as well as improving control of the administrative process, allowing statistical measurement of the performance of the exporting mining sector according to multiple parameters of interest such as: time ranges, minerals, company areas, destination countries, mineral category, type of exporter, per port or per customs office of exit.

Guatemala: More Online Transactions for Exporters

Exporting companies operating under the decree 29-89 can perform their current account withdrawals digitally through the OPA Web platform.

From a statement issued by the Guatemalan Exporters Association (AGEXPORT):

In order to achieve continuous improvement in the electronic systems of the Office Processing Arrangements (OPA) and facilitate export operations, OPA has re-engineered in its online system for current account withdrawals, launching the new OPA Web system, which will allow Current Account Withdrawals via the Web, and in this way fulfill an essential requirement of companies covered under Decree 29-89.
