Honduras: Tender for Consultancy on Energy Prices Model

The National Energy Company is looking for a consulting firm to develop a study for the determination and adjustment of tariffs for final consumers of electricity.

From the publication of the request for expressions of interest:

"The Government of the Republic of Honduras has received a loan from the International Development Association (IDA) for an equivalent amount of U.S. $25,200,000.00, and intends to apply part of the funds to payments for a contract for the services of a consulting firm to develop a Study for the Determination of the Price Adjustment of Electricity Supply to Final Consumers and Design of a Progressive Implementation Scheme.

The services include preparation of the tariff schedule and calculation of the prices to be applied in compliance with the conditions set by the new Electricity Industry Act and other related studies. "

Expressions of interest must be submitted no later than July 14, 2014.

Currently the price for pineapples is set by the market (demand and supply) and small farmers paid for their product with prices that are unilaterally set.
