Honduras: Tender for Construction of Dams

The Central District Mayor's Office tenders the design and construction of dams in the Guacerique River basin.

Honduras Government Purchase CPuNO-07-AMDC-13-2020:

"The project consists of the design and construction of several dams in the Guacerique River Basin with a storage capacity of at least 4 million cubic meters each, for a total of approximately twelve (12) million cubic meters, in order to improve the capacity of the current reservoir of Los Laureles Dam and also to control the sedimentation of the current dam.

Design and construction of dams in the Guacerique River basin for:
a) The improvement of the water reservoir capacity in the basin that supplies Los Laureles dam.
b) The control of sedimentation of Los Laureles dam."

Deadline for submission of tenders: April 30, 2020.

$150 Million to Expand Salvadoran Hydroelectric

Tenders for the project to double the capacity of the "5 de Noviembre” hydroelectric will begin in 2010.

The Río Lempa Hydroelectric Executive Committee (CEL) is currently reviewing the feasibility study and it expects to complete this stage in June or July of this year. The tender for the project would be for 2010. They believe that the expansion work will take 3 years and cost $150 million.

The Odebrecht company will be in charge of constructing the Los Llanitos and the Jicatuyo hydroelectric dams in the Santa Barbara department.

Latribuna.hn reports on its website: "The work to be carried by the foreign company includes the design, construction, operation, maintenance, and transfer of the hydroelectric plants which will have an installed capacity of 271 megawatts, and an annual generation of 1,037 kilowatt-hours.

El Salvador: El Cimarron Dam will be operated by private firm

October 2008

El Salvador's sixth hydroelectric plant will be operated, during the first 15 years, by the same private company that wins the tender to build it.

The Comision Ejecutiva Hidroeléctrica del Río Lempa (CEL) stated that this project will be developed under the BOT system ("build, operate and transfer").
