Honduras Receives Mexican Trade Mission

On 8th and 9th of July, a multi sectoral mission for trade and investment will hold business meetings with Honduran businessmen.

Monday, July 1, 2013

"The areas of tourism, services, chemicals, technology, manufacturing, agribusiness, food and beverages, minerals and construction materials will be represented at the meeting," noted an article in Laprensa.hn. Honduran entrepreneurs have until July 5 to register for the event which will be held in the Chamber of Commerce and Industries in Cortes (CCIC).

"We encourage Honduran investors to benefit from the adoption of the treaty with Mexico and increase bilateral trade between the two countries," said Eduardo Ramos, President of the Federation of Chamber of Commerce Mexico-Honduras.

The business sector of the Central American nation hopes to use Puerto Cortes as a bridge to trade with southeastern Mexico. "We want a direct route, not just a route, and where Puerto Cortés receives three to four shipments weekly. Mexico is the first investor in Honduras and if trade between the two countries grows there will be more jobs, "said Ramos.
