Along with construction of a cruise terminal, there are also housing projects.

The residential projects, among them Alta Vista Beach, are being developed by Desarrollos Vision de Vista.

This project, as well as the Banana Coast cruise terminal, which is developed by "Grande Trujillo Autoridad", is sponsored by the Canadian company Fast Track Capital.

Honduras: Commercial Flights to Trujillo Resumed

The airstrip in the tourist town was renovated so that it can receive for two weekly flights from La Ceiba.

After 10 years without operating, the airfield has reopened and will receive direct flights from La Ceiba arriving on Mondays and Fridays operated by Línea Aérea Nacional de Honduras, S.A.

Under construction and with an investment of $30 million, the Banana Coast will receive its first ship loaded with tourists on November 18, 2014.

$30 million is being invested in the dock located in the Bay of Trujillo, Colón department, the first cruise port on the mainland in the country.

Honduras: $15 Million for Cruise Ship Pier

Canadian company “Grande Trujillo Autoridad” will develop a cruise ship pier in Bahía de Trujillo (Trujillo Bay), province of Colón.

The pier will have a length of 700 meters for serving cruise ships and a land terminal, explained José Antonio Laínez, Mayor of Trujillo.

With more than 200 tourists on board, a cruise ship docked in Trujillo Port, in the Honduran Caribbean, for the first time.

Ricardo Martinez, Minister of Tourism, informed Laprensahn.com: "We are planning to exceed the 430 thousand cruise passengers that were received in the whole country last year and at least reach 450 thousand which means more than 160 arrivals by 15 companies.
