Honduras: Health Projects Worth $5.8 Million Resume

The projects include the soon to be concluded construction of PRONASA's regional offices.

The director of the National Health Services Program (PRONASA in Spanish), Osmín Bautista, stated that the funds had now been authorized for the the projects to be developed.

Bautista also told Proceso Digital that the funds will also enable contracts that have already been awarded (but stalled due to lack of funds) to be progressed, some of which are expected to be completed by the end of the year.

Environmental permits were the missing process needed to start construction of the project to build a new headquarters for the Legislative Assembly, which will cost $63 million and which will have a construction area measuring 50,000 square meters.

A contract has been approved with the company Arquitechne SA for the design, and construction of new areas and restoration of the old government building in the province of Colon.

As part of the Urban Renewal Project of the province of Colon, the Cabinet Council has approved a contract for the design, development plans, construction of new areas, adjustments and complete restoration of the old building of the Government of Colon.
