Honduras Eliminates Consulted Visas for 20 Countries

The Honduran chancellery eliminated consulted visas for 20 countries, including China, India and Russia.

The decision transfers these countries to the consular visa category, which may be issued in the country of origin, while the consulted visa requires more selective procedures and it must be approved in Honduras.

Honduran Chancellor Patricia Rhodes told Prensa of Honduras: "Honduras has made the decision, along with Nicaragua and other Central American countries, to ease the difficulties and obstacles in obtaining visas for several nations because we are continuing with our open door policy." These countries are, "India, People’s Republic of China, Russia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, United Arab Emirates and some African countries."

Honduras and Russia Eliminate Travel Visas

The two Governments have signed an agreement abolishing visas in order to expedite the necessary formalities for travel between the countries.

With Russia, the total number of countries that have abolished visas for citizens of Honduras amounts to more than 70. Among them are: Turkey, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Poland, Malta, Malaysia, Japan, Israel, Greece, Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina.

Visas to Enter Costa Rica

New immigration regulations state which foreigners require visas to enter the country and the length of their stay.

The Department of Immigration of Costa Rica issued on Jan. 14, Regulation DG-3312-2010, which details visitors of which countries require an entry visa and the duration of those visas, according to the nationality of the traveler.

Nicaragua Waives Entry Visa for Russians

Russia and Nicaragua signed a reciprocal visa-free agreement.

The agreement was signed as part of the visit by Igor Sechin, Russia's Deputy Prime Minister.

"Nicaragua's Foreign Relations ministry reported in a press release that the agreement was signed by Igor Sechin and Nicaraguan Chancellor Samuel Santos", reported Prensa.com.

Elimination of Visa for the Dominican Republic

April 2009

El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua eliminated the entry visa requirement for the Dominican Republic.

The act is part of the integration process being carried out by the four countries known as the CA-4, and it seeks to promote tourism and trade between the five countries.
