Honduras: Bids for Vehicle Number Plates

The companies Comercio y Exportadores S de R.L., Consorcio Tonjes and Tekni Communications presented their proposals to supply 400,000 number plates for vehicles and motorcycles for a period of five years.

Elheraldo.hn reports that "... Coalianza's executive secretary, Henry Acosta, told Elheraldo.hn that "... in the first stage the selected operator must meet the unmet demand for 150.00 plates for cars and 250,000 for motorcycles, over a maximum period of six months . "

"... For the economic and technical analysis of the offers a committee has been formed by the Property Institute, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Security and the Commission for Public-Private Partnerships. "

Honduras: Contract for License Plates Goes to German Company

A consortium of German origin, Tonjes, has been selected to provide a five year supply of new number plates for vehicles and motorcycles.

The bid submitted by the Consortium Tonjes incorporates the use of new technology to prevent cloning of plates. The price of the plates for cars is $10.51 and for motorcycles, $13.23.

Tender for 400,000 Licence Plates

August 2013

The Revenue Office of Honduras has began the process of acquiring more than 400,000 licence plates for private vehicles and motorcycles at a cost of up to $1.8 million.

According to Alejandrina Rodriguez, administrative manager of the Executive Directorate of Revenue (DEI), the tender states that the earliest delivery of all the plates must be 60 calendar days from the signing of the contract, with the ability to deliver in two installments, one at 30 days and one at 60 days.

Honduras Privatizes Vehicle Registration

February 2013

The Commission for the Promotion of Public-Private Partnership intends to privatize the registration of more than 750,000 vehicles through a trust in a private bank.

"This was established by representatives of the Commission for the Promotion of Public-Private Partnerships (COALIANZA) after seeing the content of a draft decree aimed at removing the responsibility of vehicle registration from the Revenue Office (DEI)," noted an article in Elheraldo.hn.
