In January the consumer price index recorded an increase of just 0.44% compared to December, keeping annual inflation at 3.44%.

In the first month of 2017 the Consumer Price Index (CPI), showed a monthly variation of 0.44%, behaviour that was associated with price increases in fuel in the local market, clothing and footwear for adults and children, rental housing, as well as tariffs for private water supply. The categories that contributed the most to monthly inflation were "Transport" with 0.17 percentage points (pp) and "Clothing and footwear" with 0.10 pp; and to a lesser extent: "Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels" 0.08, "Personal Care" with 0.06 pp, "Furniture and items for household maintenance" 0.03 pp, "Recreation and Culture" and "Hotels, cafes and restaurants" with 0.02 pp, each; and "Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco" and "Health" with 0.01 pp each.

Conversely, the "Food and non-alcoholic beverages" category reflected a negative share of 0.06 percentage points.

Reported prices for electricity, fuel, some household items and clothing caused much of the monthly change in the CPI recorded in the third month of the year.

From the Central Bank of Honduras report:

In March 2019, the monthly growth of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 0.40%, mainly because of the increase in the prices of electricity supply, fuel, some household items and clothing.

The consumer price index recorded a monthly variation of 0.44%, due to an increase in the prices of urban passenger transport and some items of clothing.

In August 2018, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) showed a monthly variation of 0.44%, mainly determined by higher prices in urban passenger transport, as well some items of clothing.

April 2017

In March a monthly variation was registered of 0.33%, mainly due to the behavior of prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages.

Honduras: Annual Inflation in April 2016 is 2.44%

May 2016

In March the consumer price index recorded a rise of 0.21% compared to February, placing accumulated inflation at 1.26%.

From a statement issued by the Central Bank:

In April 2016, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) denoted a monthly growth of 0.21%, mainly associated with the increase in the prices of fuel and health services.
