Hardware Stores: New Investment in Guatemala

The chain of hardware stores EPA will open from July 4th its fourth sales point, which will be in a shopping center in Zone 10 of the country's capital.

The company reported that in its new store that will be in Rambla 10 Shopping Center, will offer more than 15 thousand items distributed in 27 categories related to construction.

Luis de Sousa, general manager of EPA, told Prensalibre.com that "... This store basically has the large sales area where we sell more than 10,000 products, but we also do not have space here for building materials, but we have designed a new concept in this store which is a Show Room of building materials in which the customer, in the module of attention, can buy the materials and in one day they are dispatched from any of the other stores.

With the opening of the new sales point, the chain of hardware stores will reach four stores, all in the metropolitan area, which will be located in Calzada Roosevelt, on the highway to the Atlantic, in San José Pinula and the new one in Zone 10 of the capital. In addition, the company plans to open two more stores outside the metropolitan area, one in Chimaltenango and another in Quetzaltenango.

According to reports from CentralAmericaData, from Guatemala to Panama, there are just over 4,000 establishments dedicated to the sale of hardware products, of which almost 25% is concentrated in Costa Rica, followed by Guatemala, where is about 20% of hardware stores.

$14 Million for New EPA Store

Ferretería EPA, a company financed with Venezuelan capital, hopes to inaugurate its third establishment in Costa Rica by November 2009.

The Ferretería EPA chain is investing $14 million in the construction of a 30,000 square meter location in Belen, in the province of Heredia. Depending on the results of the new store, the company plans to open two more locations in the metropolitan area in the medium- and long-term.
