Guatemalan Franchises Target Brazilian Market

Businessmen from the food sector are exploring the Brazilian market in order to expand their franchises.

Companies "Pollo Campero", "Go Green", "Los Cebollines" and "Tacontento" are studying this market for their expansion plans for 2010, reported Ricardo Camargo, secretary of the Brazilian Association of Franchises.

Camargo also told newspaper Prensalibre.com: "We are preparing a trip to Brazil to make contact with local entrepreneurs".

Boost to Franchises in Guatemala

An agreement between the Guatemalan Chamber of Commerce and the Guatemalan Association of Franchising aims to promote the model in order to achieve growth by opening up new markets.

Representatives from various international franchises expressed their interest in operating in Panama.

The Brazilian delegation met with Jorge Luis González, sub director of the Small and Medium Enterprises Authority (AMPYME).

The business, conceived eight years ago by businessman Wallace Tonon, offers recipes based on fresh fruit and liquid chocolate.
