For the first half of the year, imports of machinery and production equipment diminished 22.3% when compared to the same period of 2008.

"Agricultural machines sales have been dropping for the past three years", reports "Businessmen are providing maintenance to their equipment instead of renovating them, acknowledged Marco Antonio Paxtor, president of the Guatemalan Agricultural Federation and Association".
