Guatemalan Coffee Exports Fall

In the first month of current crop harvest, exports fell by 15.84% over the same period of the previous year.

Last October foreign sales totaled 70,028 bags (60 kilo bags), 15.84% less than the 83,211 bags exported in October 2009, according to the National Coffee Association (Anacafe).

Nicaragua: Coffee Exports Down 9%

In the first ten months of the current crop foreign exchange revenues totaled $374.7 million, $37.2 million less than in the same period in the last harvest.

The decline in foreign exchange earnings has been caused in part by the decline in export volumes (1.71 million quintals from October to July this year versus 1.83 million quintals in the same period last year) coupled with a slight decline in the average price per quintal. The average sales price was $218.1, $ 7.5 less compared to the same period of the previous crop, $225.6.

Dip in Regional Coffee Exports

The sum of exports from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Colombia and Peru was lower by 2.28% compared to the same period in the previous harvest.

The Guatemalan Anacafé outlined in a statement that their exports of Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Colombia and Peru totaled 20,709,455 bags of 60 kilos from October 2011 to last June .

Guatemalan Coffee Exports Fall by 17.4%

Exports in June were 400,100 bags of 60 kilos each, 17.2% below the same period last year.

According to information supplied by the Guatemalan National Coffee Association (Anacafé), in June 2009 total coffee exports were 483,283 bags.

The Anacafé report states that total exports from the current harvest (October 2009 – June 2010) are 2.72 million bags, 0.08% below the 2.74 million bags exported in the same period of the previous harvest.

Guatemala exports 13% less coffee

During the first three months of the 2008-2009 harvest, exports were 12.79% less than for the same period in 2007-2008.

According to "Esther Eskensay, an analyst for the National Coffee Association Market (Anacafe), reported that since last October, when the 2008-2009 harvest started, 282,206 sacks (60 kilos) of coffee were exported."
