Stephanía Calderón, Wendy’s marketing manager, explained that they expect to open two restaurants in 2010, one in September and the other by yearend.
Ramón Hernández, president of the Guatemalan Franchises Association, referred to Wendy’s expansion plans, stating that “in the food industry each brand has its own strategy. As an association, we have confirmed that fast food chains still have a lot of market to cover”.
The US company Denny's has announced the opening of its first restaurant in Guatemala City, which will be operated by a company of Honduran origin called Comidas Especializadas.

This newest location in Guatemala marks the 13thcountry in Denny’s global portfolio.
In Costa Rica, the fast-food chain Taco Bell plans to open five new restaurants in the remainder of the year, and four more in 2018, in different parts of the country.
Through a press release, the company stated that in what remains of this year it will be opening stores in the residential and commercial center Bamboo Eco Urbano complex, Walmart San Sebastián, near La Merced Park in downtown San Jose, Rohmoser Square, and in Liberia.
The US fast food company Wingstop has announced that through a franchise 30 stores will be opened in Panama and Colombia, starting from 2017.

Thirteen fast food franchises will be opening 40 new stores this year, after 2015 saw the arrival of some new players and the departure of others.
A survey carried out by Nacion.com on the franchising industry revealed that about 40 new stores will generate 360 jobs this year, compared to the 654 redundancies recorded in fast food restaurants segment in 2015.
