Guatemala: Tourism figures up to June 2015

Between January and June 1.7 million tourists visited the country, almost 4% more than in the same period last year, generating revenues of $772 million.

From a statement issued by the Government of Guatemala:

Guatemala July 21, 2015. The beauty of Guatemala continues to enthrall foreigners, which is reflected in a positive growth in tourist arrivals to the country from January to June, and in the generation of foreign exchange.

According to the Department of Market Research at the Guatemalan Institute of Tourism, INGUAT, one million 71 thousand 794 visitors entered the country in the first half of the year, representing an increase of 39.704 tourists, ie 3.8 percent more than in the same period in 2014.

It has been estimated that 2017 closed with the arrival of 2.1 million visitors to the country, 11% more than in the previous year, and foreign currency generated of more than $1.2 billion.

The Guatemalan Tourism Institute also stressed that this is the best cruise season in the history of the country, which will see 122 dockings. 

Tourism Numbers in El Salvador

October 2014

Between January and July 2014 the number of tourists who came into the country increased by 4.7% compared to the same period in 2013, and they spent on average $108.6 per day, which is 3% more.

From a statement issued by the Ministry of Tourism of El Salvador:

The main tourism indicators (employment, income, daily expenses, lodging, number of visitors) reported significant growth in the first seven months of the year, confirming the strength of the tourism industry in the Salvadoran economy. The indicator for job creation in tourism in the month of June 2014 shows an increase of 5.93% compared to the same month in 2013, with more than 48,893 versus the 46,154 jobs recorded in 2013.

Nicaraguan Tourist Arrivals up 8%

July 2014

In the first five months of the year the country received 42,000 more tourists than in the same period in 2013.  

Confirming the upward trend in the flow of tourists coming to Nicaragua, in the first five months of the year alone 545,174 tourists visited, 8.3% more than in the same period in 2013, when the figure was 503,077.

More Tourism in Guatemala in 2014

March 2014

An announcement has been made of a 12% increase in the number of visitors who came to the country in the first two months of the year compared with the same period in 2013.

Tourists coming to the country in January and February generated foreign exchange of $284 million, up from the $256 million which came in during the first two months of 2013.
