The company Mantenimiento Vial y Construcción S.A. has presented an environmental impact study for the improvement works on the RN-01 highway, Rotonda La Licorera Estación 204+300 - Estación San Juan Ostuncalco, Estación 214 + 300, in the town of San Mateo, Department of Quetzaltenango.

In the study, which was submitted on September 4th at the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Guatemala, it is estimated that the approximate cost of the project is $22.4 million.

In Guatemala an award has been made to the company Mantenimiento Vial y Construcción S.A. for improvement works on the RN-0 road, at the stretch from San Juan Ostuncalco to San Marcos.

In late July the Social Solidarity Trust Fund (Fideicomiso Fondo Social de Solidaridad) awarded the contract for road improvement works worth $22.1 million, according to information on the purchasing website Guatecompras.gt.

An environmental impact study has been presented for a road improvement project of 40.7 kilometers of the highway leading to Puerto Quetzal, with an estimated cost of $74 million.
