The rise is 4% for workers in the agriculture and non-agriculture category, and 3.5% for the export and maquila sectors, and will be effective from January 1, 2016.

From January 1st, the minimum wage will increase by 4% for workers in agriculture and non-agriculture sector, and 3.5% for workers in the export and maquila sector, according to Government Agreement 303-2015, which was published in the official newspaper.
Agreement 303-2015:
Article 1. Minimum Wages for Agricultural Activities. For agricultural activities the minimum wage is established as the sum of EIGHTY ONE QUETZALES, EIGHTY
SEVEN CENTS (Q.81.87) DAILY, equivalent to TEN QUETZALES AND TWENTY CENTS (Q. 10.23) per hour in an ordinary working day shift or the proportional amount for mixed or night shifts, these wages will apply from 1st January 2016.
Article 2. Minimum wage for non-agricultural activities. For non-agricultural activities the minimum wage is EIGHTY ONE QUETZALES AND EIGHTY SEVEN CENTS (Q.81.87) DAILY, equivalent to TEN QUETZALES AND TWENTY CENTS (Q. 10.23) per hour in an ordinary working day shift or the proportional amount for mixed or night shifts, these wages will apply from January 1st 2016.
Article 3. Minimum wage for Export Activity and Maquilas. For Export Activities and Maquilas, regulated by Decree 29-89 of the Congress of the Republic and its reforms: the minimum wage is established as the sum of SEVENTY FOUR QUETZALES AND EIGHTY NINE CENTS (Q.74.89) DAILY, equivalent to NINE QUETZALES AND THIRTY-SIX CENTS (Q.9.36) per hour in an ordinary working day shift or the proportional amount for mixed or night shifts, starting from January 1 of the year 2016. "

For workers in non-agricultural, maquila and export activities, the minimum wage will increase by 3% this year in relation to what was paid in 2019.
Government agreement 320-2019, published in Diario de Centroamérica on December 30, 2019, specifies that the minimum monthly wage for agricultural activities will remain unchanged for the second consecutive year, and will continue at $388.12.
Starting from January 1, 2017 new rules are in effect which govern minimum wages for agricultural, non-agricultural, export and maquia activities.
