Guatemala: Remittances Up 4%

During the first quarter of 2018, remittances sent from abroad to Guatemala totaled $2.019 billion, 4% more than the total received in the same period in 2017.

n dir="ltr">According to figures from the Banco de Guatemala, in March 2018 the country received $754 million in remittances, an amount that exceeds by 2% the $740 million registered in the same month in 2017. 

Between the first quarters of 2012 and 2018 the remittance revenues registered practically doubled, as the figures went up from $1.057 billion in 2012 to $2.019 billion in 2018. 

This form of income in the third month of this year totaled $754 million, an amount that exceeded the average value of remittances received during the months of March over the last five years, which on average was $561 million.

In the first three months of 2019, income from family remittances in the country totaled $2,205 million, 9% more than in the same period last year.

The latest figures from the Bank of Guatemala show that in March 2019 the country received $826 million in remittances, 10% more than the $754 million recorded in the same month in 2018.

The most recent figures from Banco de Guatemala show that in August 2018 the country received $860 million in the form of remittances, an amount that exceeds by 22% the $708 million registered in the same month in 2017.

In the first seven months of the year, income from family remittances totaled $818 million, exceeding by 11% the amount reported in the same period in 2017.

The most recent figures from Banco de Guatemala show that in July 2018 the country received $818 million in remittances, an amount that exceeds by 23% the $644 million registered in the same month in 2017.

In the first six months of 2018, remittances totaled $4.399 billion, 9% more than the total received in the same period in 2017.

The latest figures from the Banco de Guatemala show that in June 2018 the country received $801 million in the form of remittances, an amount that exceeds by 11% the $724 million registered in the same month in 2017.
