In the first seven months of the year, income from family remittances totaled $818 million, exceeding by 11% the amount reported in the same period in 2017.
Between the first seven months of 2011 and the same period in 2018, revenues from remittances have practically doubled, since the figures went from $2.525 billion in 2011 to $5.217 billion in 2018.
The increase of 11% registered in January to July of this year with respect to the same period in 2017, represents a slowdown in the growth of the flow of remittances, given that for the first seven months of 2016 and 2017 growths of 15% and 17%, were reported respectively.
The income for the seventh month of this year totaled $818 million, an amount that exceeded the average value of remittances received during the months of July in the last five years, since the flow reached an average of $546 million.
During the first seven months of 2019, family remittances to Guatemala totaled $5.875 million, 13% more than in the same period in 2018.
According to the most recent figures from the Bank of Guatemala, in July 2019 the country received $948 million in remittances, 16% more than the $818 million recorded in the same month in 2018.
In the first eight months of the year, income from family remittances totaled $6.077 billion, exceeding by 12% the amount reported in the same period in 2017.
The most recent figures from Banco de Guatemala show that in August 2018 the country received $860 million in the form of remittances, an amount that exceeds by 22% the $708 million registered in the same month in 2017.
In the first six months of 2018, remittances totaled $4.399 billion, 9% more than the total received in the same period in 2017.
The latest figures from the Banco de Guatemala show that in June 2018 the country received $801 million in the form of remittances, an amount that exceeds by 11% the $724 million registered in the same month in 2017.
During the first four months of 2018, remittances totaled $2,789 million, 8% more than the total received in the same period in 2017.
According to figures from the Banco de Guatemala, in April 2018 the country received $770 million in remittances, an amount that is 20% more than the $640 million registered in the same month in 2017.
