Guatemala: Non Stop Growth in Remittances

Between January and November, the flow of remittances that came into the country amounted to $7.472 billion, registering an increase of 15% compared to the same period in 2016.

Figures from the Banco de Guatemala detail in November of last year alone the country received $600 million in remittances, while in the same month of this year the figure rose to $646 million. 

In the first nine months of the year, total remittances sent mostly by Guatemalans living abroad totaled $7.472  billion, with the highest value registered in May, with $747 million.

Remittances: Record Figures in Guatemala

November 2019

During October 2019, family remittances sent to the country totaled nearly $1 billion, the largest amount recorded in a single month.

The most recent figures from the Bank of Guatemala (Banguat) show that in October 2019 the country received remittances of $999.96 million, 16% more than the $863 million recorded in the same month in 2018.

Guatemala: Remittances Up 9%

March 2019

In the first two months of 2019, income from family remittances in the country totaled $1.379 million, 9% more than in the same period last year.

The most recent data from the Bank of Guatemala show that in February 2019 the country received $690 million in remittances, 10% more than the $630 million recorded in the same month in 2018.

Remittances in Guatemala up 13%

November 2018

In the first ten months of the year, income from family remittances totaled $7.687 million, 13% higher than reported in the same period in 2017.

The latest data from the Bank of Guatemala show that in October 2018 the country received $864 million in remittances, 19% more than the $728 million registered in the same month in 2017.

Honduras: 9% Increase in Remittances up to June 2018

July 2018

During the first six months of 2018, remittances received from abroad totaled $2.349 billion, 9% more than in the same period in 2017.

According to figures from the Central Bank of Honduras (BCH), between the first half of 2018 and the same period in 2017, the country increased the volume of remittances received, rising from $2.156 billion to $2.349 billion.
